The Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra

Each year, one Angel is chosen to wear the jewel encrusted, multi-million dollar Fantasy Bra; the Fantasy Bra first made it’s appearance in 1996 and remained a catalog item until 2001, in ‘01 it became a centerpiece in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Although the company still offers the Fantasy Bra in the catalog, where it’s known as “the ultimate holiday” gift, none have been sold since 1996.

Here’s a list (1996-2011) of the gorgeous models that have been lucky enough to wear it.

In 1996, Claudia Schiffer was chosen to wear the first ever Fantasy Bra; the bra was notably called the “Million Dollar Miracle Bra,” because of it’s $1,000,000 price tag. The bra featured over 100 carats of Diamonds amongst a variety of other semi-precious gemstones. - This bra was not featured in the show.

In 1997, Tyra Banks was chosen to wear the $3,000,000 “Diamond Dream Bra.” The bra featured 93 pear cut gemstones, nearly 100 diamonds around the trim, and a 42 carat pear cut diamond at it’s center. - This bra was not featured in the show.

In 1998, Daniela Pestova wore the $5,000,000 “Dream Angel Fantasy Bra.” It featured 77 carats of marquise cut rubies, and 330 carats of pear and marquise cut diamonds set in platinum. - This bra was not featured in the show.

In 1999, the turn of the millennium, Heidi Klum was chosen to wear the “Millennium Bra,” that boasted a $10,000,000 price tag. It featured 2,000 diamonds set in platinum amongst several diamond cut sapphires. - This bra was not featured in the show.

In 2000, Gisele was chosen to wear the “Red Hot Fantasy Bra,” it boasted an extraordinary $15,000,000 price tag. The bra features 1,300 gemstones, among them, 300 carats of Thai Rubies. - It held the Guinness World Record as the most expensive piece of lingerie ever created until 2006, when Susan Rosen designed a $20,000,000 bra that later replaced the 2001 Fantasy Bra in the Guinness Book of World Records. - This bra was not featured in the show.

In 2001, Heidi Klum was chosen to wear the $12,500,000 “Heavenly Star Bra,” it was the first ever Fantasy Bra to appear on the runway. The bra featured 1,200 Sri-Lankan pink sapphires, and a 90 carat emerald cut diamond at it’s center. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2002, Karolina Kurkova was chosen to wear the $10,000,000 “Star of Victoria Fantasy Bra.” The bra featured an awe-inspiring 1,150 rubies and 1,6000 emeralds. - This bra was featured in the show. - This bra is one of my favorites, and it suits Karolina well, she looked great in it!

In 2003, Heidi Klum was awarded her 3rd Fantasy Bra, the “Very Sexy Fantasy Bra.” It boasted an $11,000,000 price tag. The bra took 370 hours to create, and featured a 70 carat diamond in the center, the second largest in the world. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2004, Tyra Banks was chosen to wear her second Fantasy Bra, the $10,000,000 “Heavenly “70” Fantasy Bra.” The bra featured 2,900 diamonds set in 18 carat white gold, and it also has a 70 carat pear cut diamond in the center. - This bra was not featured in the show, Victoria’s Secret did the Angels Across America tour that year.

In 2005, Gisele was awarded her second Fantasy Bra, the “Sexy Splendor Fantasy Bra.” The bra boasted a $12.5 million dollar price tag, it featured 2,900 pave set diamonds, 22 ruby gemstones, and a 101 carat diamond set in 18 carat white gold. - This bra was featured in the show, Gisele wore it during her legendary opening for the VSFS 2005. - This bra is by far my favorite Fantasy Bra.

In 2006, Karolina Kurkova was awarded with her second Fantasy Bra, the $6.5 million dollar “Hearts on Fire Fantasy Bra.” It featured 2,000 diamonds and a 10 carat diamond brooch centerpiece. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2007, Selita Ebanks was chosen to wear the $4.5 million dollar “Holiday Fantasy Bra.” The bra features 9,000 gemstones, which include diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and yellow sapphires. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2008, Adriana Lima was chosen to wear the $5,000,000 “Black Diamond Fantasy Bra.” The bra featured 117 one carat round diamonds and 34 rubies. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2009, Marisa Miller was chosen to wear the $3,000,000 “Harlequin Fantasy Bra.” It featured 2,300 white, champagne, and cognac colored diamonds on the cups, as well as a 16 carat heart-shaped diamond pendant in the center. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2010, Adriana Lima was awarded her second Fantasy Bra, the $2,000,000 “Bombshell Fantasy Bra.” The bra featured 3,000 brilliant cut white diamonds, as well as several blue sapphires and oval cut topazes. The bra took 1,500 hours of full time labor to complete. - This bra was featured in the show.

In 2011, Miranda Kerr was chosen to wear the $2.5 million dollar “Fantasy Treasure Bra.” The bra boasts nearly 3,400 precious gemstones, which included 142 carats of white and yellow diamonds, pearls, citrines, and aquamarines. The gemstones are also set in 18 carat white gold. - In my opinion, Miranda didn’t really deserve last year’s Fantasy Bra, but it suited her well. Of all of the other angels, I don’t think anyone else would’ve pulled it off as well as she did.

In 2012, Alessandra Ambrosio was chosen to wear the $2.5 million dollar “Floral Fantasy Bra.” The bra is handset with over 5,200 precious gems, including amethysts, sapphires, tsavorites, rubies, and white, pink and yellow diamonds, all set in 18 karat rose and yellow gold. The bra also features an astonishing 20 carat diamond centerpiece. The bra is also accompanied by a matching belt and the $500,000 Bombshell Fanasy Fragrance,the bottle is comprised of white, pink and yellow diamonds, sapphires, tsavorites, rubies, a 10 carat white diamond and an exquisite, one of a kind, hand carved tourmaline butterfly. All in all, over 15,000 gemstones from around the world were inspected to find the perfect gems to create the one of a kind bra, belt and fragrance bottle.
